In this reflection, the authors consider their previous work related to bisexuality in their scholarship and teaching and within a historical context. Although they have had some very different life circumstances and taught in very different institutions, the experiences they had with biphobia and stereotypes about bisexuality have been remarkably similar. They end with some thoughts on the future of the field, urging that a more serious consideration of intersectionality will move knowledge forward in a more positive way than focusing on sexual identities in isolation
