Creative practice learning

This article reflects on the requirements for practice based learning, developments in Social Work Education and Training and challenges the location of practice opportunities. Included is an example of a student's integrated practice learning experience within a Theatre company, and a voluntary agency for people with learning difficulties. The first writer explores current practice learning and describes her own experience as an ‘off site’ practice teacher. This is supplemented by the student's description of her experience within the placement. Comments from the ‘on-site’ supervisors are also recorded. Although this is written as a discussion paper, concluding comments include feedback from the student at the end of the placement
