Tradition in landscape, landscape in tradition

Historic natural sanctuaries are an important part of the cultural heritage and play an important role in the creation of (religious) identity as well as in cultural history in general. In addition to intangible, material and natural values, they also contain historical, archaeological, religious as well as folklore, ethnological and environmental values. We can argue that natural sanctuaries and related discourse (s) are one of the most interesting ways and means of understanding the religious worldview of the culture and people around us, and that natural sanctuaries become an integral part of human oral and written history. In the article, I give an overview of the discourse related to natural sanctuaries as traditional monuments in Estonia in the 21st century
