Susan Watkins’s Contemporary Women’s Post-Apocalyptic Fiction is a rich new resource for scholars interested in the ever-expanding corpus of twenty-first-century apocalyptic literature. Watkins writes with authority and incisiveness about more than twenty novels written by British and North American female authors since 2000, placing this fiction in dialogue with a wide array of major theorists, including Stacy Alaimo, Karen Barad, Ernst Bloch, Rosi Braidotti, Dipesh Chakrabarty, Jacques Derrida, Donna Haraway, Luce Irigaray, Frank Kermode, and Slavoj Žižek.
