Ecología política de las alianzas desde abajo. Confluencias de identidades y luchas en Brasil

This article analyzes, from the perspective of Latin American political ecology, the alliances between socio-territorial movements in Brazil, highlighting the Aliança dos Povos da Floresta (1980s, Amazon) and the Teia dos Povos (2010s, Bahia). The study examines how Indigenous peoples, quilombolas, peasants, and rubber tappers built coalitions against coloniality, racism, and capitalism, articulating struggles for territory, sovereignty, and environmental justice. Methodologically, the text draws on writings by organic intellectuals such as Ailton Krenak, Chico Mendes, and Joelson Ferreira, revealing how these alliances overcame historical conflicts through a “politics of the commons.” The Alliance emerged from resistance against seringalista patterns, promoting “florestania” as an alternative to Western citizenship. Meanwhile, the Teia proposes an intersectional struggle against capitalism, racism, patriarchy, and neoliberalism, emphasizing self-governance and multiple sovereignties (food, water, pedagogical). It concludes that these movements represent a political ecology “from Abya Yala,” subverting Eurocentric epistemologies and reimagining politics from Indigenous ontologies and silenced traditions
