The Society for Pentecostal Studies has reached an important milestone: It is now fifty years old, what Robby Waddell calls “the Pentecost of SPS .” This article aims to tell the Society’s story over this past half-century and place that history within the larger context of the pentecostal and charismatic movements in order to shed light on the SPS ’s identity and self-understanding
