This article traces the original 1991 comparative script system from its early use as a model for supervision to its later development in 2009 and offers a new expanded version. The author suggests that this new model accounts more fully for unconscious transferential processes and encompasses the whole relational field of client, therapist/supervisee, and supervisor. Case examples illustrate the use of the model in supervision. Suggestions are made for how to describe the relational field in terms of energy, and questions are raised about the implications for research and training
