There has been a dramatic shift in the way that psychotherapy is delivered, supervised, and taught in response to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. However, the discourse and narrative about working online has been primarily limited to technicalities and often focused on its limitations. In this essay, I invite readers into a reflective space by offering some ideas, theory, and practical examples in order to explore what might be gained by paying attention to some of the new information available when working online and how that might be relevant and incorporated into practice
