Infant Malnutrition in Sub-Saharan Africa

The phenomenon itself, as well as the problems arising from its presence, assume various degrees of intensity in practically all the less developed countries. In some of them infant malnutrition reaches proportions which should give rise to serious concern, particularly with regard to its long-term consequences. I have selected the Sub-Saharan part of the African Continent, as a case study, hoping that this limited geographical area will permit me to achieve some depth in the analysis of both the economic and non-economic aspects of the phenomenon in question. It will be seen that these aspects often overlap to a considerable extent and that their understanding can be improved by viewing them as a historical process
