The aim of this study is to describe the processes of gender violence judicialization since the coming into force of Law No. 11.340/2006, known as Law Maria da Penha, through a field research made in the Court of Domestic and Family Violence against Women (JVDFM) in a city in the state of Santa Catarina, within June 2012 and November 2013. Starting from the description of the so-called "ratification" hearings, it has been possible to identify a "law shortage" pointing towards a gap in the production of justice, related to the blend of law, Justice, Law Maria da Penha, and politics. This gap pointed towards the possibilities of law and the impossibility of Justice. Thus, Justice is only possible as an experience of aporia; it is the search for a way, for the building of new paths. In other words, justice's aporetic nature renders its impossibility obvious in face of the lack of resources for its implementation. The production of justice in the "ratification" hearings has shown that Justice shall not be attained through Lei Maria da Penha. This does not mean, however, that the enforcement of Law Maria da Penha should not be supported
