Traffic agents are exposed to several stress factors during the exercise of their profession and, if they are women, such factors may differ from those faced by male colleagues. This article aimed to analyze the experiences faced by women working as traffic agents in the city of Vitória da Conquista - Bahia. The research is characterized as empirical, using semi-structured interviews for data collection, qualitatively treated through Content Analysis, in Bardin (2004). Results show that the profession is seen as masculinized and women in this environment suffer from prejudice and machismo, material difficulties, physical and psychological illness, resulting from the conditions of exercising the profession
