Multisectoral policy and health promotion

Issues that bind the various processes of political decision-making, economy, and welfare to health, are urgent not only for "developing" countries. The industrial nations which have conventionally been labelled "developed" are now painfully aware that they too are "developing countries". They are entering a new phase of social and economic change at an unprecedented pace. There is little in human experience to guide or help them foresee the consequences to people and their surround so as to avoid damage to vulnerable groups and environments. Rich and poor nations alike face new questions in economics, employment, fanning, education, and environment. How these issues are resolved and by what processes will determine whether and how much people experience equal opportunities to realise good health.
