Cet article se propose de tracer les changements dans la terminologie miskitu de relations au sein de l'histoire plus generale de la langue miskitu et des peuples de langue miskitu. En se concentrant specifiquement sur les Miskitu bilingues anglophones du bassin de la Lagune des Perles au Nicaragua, l'A. demontre qu'une approche ethnographique sensible a l'etude des systemes de terminologie de relations et des transformations subtiles de ces systemes dans le temps peut illuminer de facon interessante comment la parente et les concepts de personne sont imagines et negocies a des moments historiques differents
