La Encovid-19 es una encuesta telefónica de corte transversal, representativa de la población mexicana. Su objetivo es proporcionar un diagnóstico científicamente robusto sobre los cambios en el bienestar de los hogares durante la pandemia de Covid-19. En este artículo se detalla su diseño metodológico y conceptual, y se presentan los principales resultados de sus primeros cinco levantamientos. La Encovid-19 no sólo permite documentar la profunda crisis en el empleo originada por las medidas de distanciamiento social y la transición hacia la "nueva normalidad", sino también analizar su asociación con otras dimensiones del bienestar, como la salud mental y la seguridad alimentaria
