Heraqlah is a unique terraced monument, built by Harun ar‐Rashid at Raqqa, presumably to commemorate his decisive victory over the Byzantines at Herakleon. This is a report of recent excavations carried out by the author, and a comment on the possible symbolism of its numerical dimensions
