Mapeamento de mata atlântica e planejamento do Projeto de Assentamento de Reforma Agrária Tanque Rompe-Dia, município de Várzea da Palma, Minas Gerais, Brasil

It is not easy to conciliate environment protection with land access democratization, moreover where there are remaining fragments of Atlantic tropical forest and karst. In such special context, this paper presents an environmental report and a map of Atlantic tropical forest in the settlement called Tanque Rompe-Dia, at Vrzea da Palma municipality, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. These studies became the framework for proposals on sustainable development alternatives for agrarian reform in this place, while protecting the forests, caves, aquifer recharge areas and also maintaining the connectivity of the regional ecosystems
