Although the rasa theory of Sanskrit authors on poetics and dramaturgy has been often studied by scholars, several specific issues within the context of that theory still await extensive discussion. The understanding of some secondary yet historically significant concepts and the accurate translations of some of the Sanskrit passages expounding them are a great desideratum. Our objective in the following article has been to comment on the place of sdnta rasa in the rasa theory and to clarify some related theories and concepts of Sanskrit poetics
