Achard, Pierre - The analyst's personal involvement, to the test of an event. Seeking to explicitate the general theory connecting the texts in this issue, this paper reconsiders the place of personal involvement in discourse problematics, and in the general epistemology of the human and social sciences. The recent events in Eastern Europe are taken as a test of intelligibility. If discourse theory rests on a principle of distanciation, supposing that texts are treated as "corpus", objects of discourse exist only to the extent that one finds meaning, which supposes a minimal comprehension that can be shared by the reader of die analysis. The discourse analyst is caught up in die various conceptions of die political world (demos and ethnos, Sériot), or considers die texts of colleagues as a corpus to be studied (Newspeak in Poland, Dutka), or is involved in phenomena of staggered reading (editing N. Troubetzkoy's paralinguistic texts, Vâlku-Poustovaia
