There is a cyclical aspect, a dMja vu quality, to the current combined writing of Moynihan, Glazer, Herrnstein, Armor, Banfield, Jensen et al. It appears that when the black race as a race (an identifiable entity) seeks, and begins to accomplish verifiable social, economic, and political gains toward the end (goal) of equality as human beings in America, prominent social scientists of the period emerge with sociological, psychological, and/or evolutionary evidence for retrenchment in social policies and political action. This evidence is designed to provide proof that the black race is inferior and therefore undeserving of social, economic, political and educational equality, or of social programs designed to contribute to the pursuit of such equality; further, they deny that such social programs can make a difference en masse
