Late Neolithic and bronze age developments on the periphery of southern Scandinavia

Recent investigations of Late Neolithic and Bronze Age sites in Sogn, Norway are presented. Results from these investigations include evidence of a varied subsistence strategy in which both domesticated and wild species were exploited. Trends from the Late Neolithic to the early Pre‐Roman Iron Age indicate an expansive social and economic organization. To understand better the dynamics involved in the proposed developments, several concepts are examined, including a Norwegian ‘secondary products revolution’
