During the past few years there has been a rapid development of the field called science which should not be confused with the older tradition of scientific management in the sense of time and motion studies. Management science models, which express the organizational environment and its dynamics in mathematical relationships, have recently been utilized to improve educational decision-making (Bruno, 1969). This paper illustrates how a particular science model, namely, linear programming, might be used by state educational planners as an aid to evaluate decisions about the efficient allocation of vocational education funds to local
