Little difficulty resuming school after hospitalization was experienced by 14 children given residential treatment for school phobia. In fact, they became earnest school workers. Their social adjustment, however, reflected some degree of isolation, and their original psychological status remained unchanged. They will fit well into adult society, the authors feel, but will never be its innovators or reformers
