A Leningrad student told me something shortly after I arrived in the Soviet Union in 1950 which illustrated in a small way a big aspect of the Russian Revolution. We were walking by a big building and the young man pointed to it, smiling, as he said: "This used to be the stock exchange. Now it's a maritime museum.
