T IE amount of work being carried on in the fields of simplification and standardization in Europe at the present time is astonishing. This work has already attained such proportions that its beneficial effects are being felt in European industry. It has been of considerable importance in the industrial rehabilitation of Europe following the war, and at the present rate of development promises to be of much greater importance in the future
