Brenner T. and Mühlig A. Factors and mechanisms causing the emergence of local industrial clusters: a summary of 159 cases, Regional Studies. Local industrial clusters have attracted much attention in the recent economic and geographical literature. A huge number of case studies have been conducted. This paper presents an analysis of case studies for 159 local industrial clusters in various countries and industries. The involvement of thirty-four different local conditions and processes is studied, providing a summary of the knowledge that is gathered in the case studies with a comparison between continents, developed and developing countries, new and old clusters, and high- and low-technology industries. Dans la documentation économique et géographique récente, on a porté beaucoup d'attention aux clusters industriels locaux. On a mené un nombre considérable d'études de cas. Cet article cherche à presenter une analyse des études de cas auprès de 159 clusters industriels locaux situés dans divers pays et diverses industries. On étudie l'importance de trente-quatre conditions et processus locaux différents, ce qui fournit un résumé des informations rassemblées par moyen des études de cas en comparant les continents, les pays développés et en voie de développement, les anciens et le nouveaux clusters, et les industries à haute et à faible technologie. In der jüngsten Wirtschafts- und Geografieliteratur wurde lokalen Branchenclustern große Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Ebenso wurden zahlreiche Fallstudien durchgeführt. Dieser Beitrag enthält eine Analyse von Fallstudien für 159 lokale Branchencluster in verschiedenen Ländern und Branchen. Wir untersuchen die Beteiligung von 34 verschiedenen lokalen Bedingungen und Prozessen und liefern eine Zusammenfassung der in den Fallstudien ermittelten Informationen, wobei wir zwischen verschiedenen Kontinenten, Industrie- und Entwicklungsländern, neuen und alten Clustern sowie zwischen Hochtechnologie- und anderen Branchen unterscheiden. En la reciente bibliografía económica y geográfica se ha prestado mucha atención a las aglomeraciones industriales de ámbito local. Y se han llevado a cabo un gran número de estudios de casos. Este artículo contiene un análisis de los estudios de casos para 159 aglomeraciones industriales locales en diferentes países e industrias. Estudiamos la participación de treinta y cuatro condiciones y procesos diferentes en un ámbito local, y damos un resumen del conocimiento que se ha recopilado en los estudios de casos comparando entre los continentes, los países desarrollados y en desarrollo, las aglomeraciones nuevas y antiguas, y las industrias con tecnologías alta y baja.
