[eng] After a bicentenary : Value and price in Turgot's works Michel Herland Turgot's death bicentenany leads to reexamine the works of an economist, who is badly-known at the moment in spite of his good reputation. The first part of this article describes Turgot's hesitancy between different theories of value and explains that he improved the utilitarist theory in the direction that will be the marginalists' one, and that he anticipated quite precisely Ricardo's analysis of comparative costs. In the second part, which deals with corn prices, it appears that Turgot completed with great acuteness the physiocrat plead in favour of liberalisation of home trade as well as foreign trade
