Interview performance of professionally trained and untrained social workers was evaluated through the use of experimental analogues to the treatment interview, investigating performance differences in workers according to worker level of training and two client types, aggressive and compliant. Workers' stimulus-response congruence to client responses and the content relevance of workers' responses to client treatment expecta- tions were the performance variables evaluated, as well as workers' postinterview anxiety
