Statistical power is the probability of correctly rejecting the null hypothesis. This paper reports a review of a decade of studies, reported in the Journal of Social Work Education, that found that a disturbing number of studies employed statistical tests of hypotheses that had inadequate statistical power and, thus, an inadequate probability of detecting the effects of the variables under study
