This article concerns problems of habitation in the Czech Republic. It originated within the framework of the project "The Housing Market, its Regional Differentiation and Social Circumstances", sponsored by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic and Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. This rather unusual analysis has been realised on the basis of data excerpted from newspaper advertisements and those placed by selected real estate agencies. Besides recording existing territorial differences in market prices of habitation (at the level of districts), the main attention in this article is devoted to searching for possible causes of such regional differences
