This paper reexamines Hipponax frs. 26 and 26a West, arguing that the lines describe the fortunes of a cunnilinctor, a reading which I contextualize within the sexual vocabulary of Iambus, Old Comedy, and Latin epigram. I then argue that Martial 3.77 might have been directly modeled on the Hipponax poem as herein reconstructed
