Previous issues of this bulletin have described the Taichung Program of Pre-pregnancy Health in Taiwan and the Koyang study in Korea. In addition the report of the technical mission to advise the Korean Government on family planning has been summarized. In recent months there has been considerable development in the family planning efforts in both countries and we are glad to present this review of both programs as of the end of 1964. This report was prepared by Mr. Spurgeon M. Keeny The Population Councils Resident Representative for Southeast Asia who has served as senior American advisor to both programs for the past 16 months. Many observers believe that these programs are among the most successful now underway. (excerpt)
