In this era of ever increasing infiuxes of students from other countries who often have limited English-speaking skills, school districts need to find better ways of helping these students attain their educational expectations. This study was conducted to survey Vietnamese students regarding their perceptions and needs in order to better serve them in the school setting. Although many Vietnamese students are successful in school; there are many who are dropping out of school. The findings have important implications for improving school programs for second-language students
