The ApcBar(syr) is, as recent research sees, a literary work. The present article investigates the thematic development of the second, with regard to content, central part of the book (21,1-77,26). The fundamental visions and interpretations show a threefold expansion of their horizon: from the end time with twelve phases (27-30) to the sequence of four empires starting at the present (36.38f) up to the material climax of the universal historical view from creation to consumation (53.56-74: cloud vision and interpretation). Only these end-time historical overviews with their divinely controlled arrival of the times establish apocalyptically stringent reasons for the present observation of the Torah. The ApcBar(syr) offers therefore a conceptual coherence and compositionally an intended thematic development
