The author argues that the dental exclusion in Medicare should be removed in order to allow inclusion of dental care in Medicare Part B, open doors to dental homes for seniors, and promote the integration of oral health care with the rest of the health care system. Topics include the impact of oral health care disparities on quality of life for older persons, the cost efficiency of preventive dental care versus costly emergency procedures, and dental care use rates among older adults in the U.S
