I told Professor Smith that his approach to statistics differed greatly from yours. He puts a formula on a board, tells you to get it into your notes, memorize it, and then expects you to know it for the test. I told him that my other professor puts a formula on the board and asks the class whether they understand it or not. If the class says Yes, he erases it and says, Ok, it's in the book. I asked Smith, Why the difference? He didn't answer. . . . He didn't really like the question
