The presentation of the in undergraduate textbooks on marriage and family is studied by a content analysis of 27 texts published from 1988 to 1993, The aged receive limited amounts of coverage, are often separated from other family issues and events, and are generally associated with specific elderly topics in these texts. Photographs depict persons engagning in varied activities but show little diversity of race, class, or gender, implications and strategies for more fully integrated presentations of the are discussed
