I have taught an introductory social research class for a number of years and have found it relatively easy to find class exercises that teach certain types of research skills such as survey techniques. However, I did not have an exercise that would use an experimental method. Part of the problem was that many of the possible projects were either heavily psychological rather than sociological or were strictly laboratory exercises.
