Videotape is not cheap film. It is economical, but more importantly, its simplicity of technique and its feedback potential make it a versatile device for sociology instruction. Because videotape is a new technology, it may have been wise to avoid the equipment until recently; like early computers, early videotape equipment is not useless-just more troublesome to operate and less versatile. However, most problems early users found have now been eliminated, and this presentation presumes the use of current equipment models
