In this multivoiced essay, the authors focus on two Voice of Witness Oral History for Social Justice projects in progress: Mi María: Puerto Rico after the Hurricane, and Resettled: Beginning (Again) in Appalachia. Using these projects as case studies, we discuss the challenges of amplifying voices from an editorial perspective, while at the same time attending to feminist commitments to speaking with communities rather than for them. In the following conversation, the authors discuss some aspects of their projects related to the ethics of this difficult labor and some of its potential rewards, especially when the narratives in question highlight social justice issues
