Objective: To analyze the dynamics in the relationship between mothers and adolescents living in an area of social vulnerability. Methods: We conducted 3 focus groups in socio-economic poor area. Results: Based on the analysis of the focus groups, we traced five secondary categories. The central phenomenon was Struggling to protect their adolescents. Conclusion: The lack of fulfillment of the basic physiological needs, and the worries with their adolescent children impacted the mothers’ well-being
