Abstract. Experiences of corporal and spiritual transformation are present in every cultural system. The notions of occidental and amazonian connotations of transformations however are very different. Instead of the metamorphosis as a linear process, amazonian transformations seem to be a paradox principle. This article tries to trace the different principles of transformations along with the concept of “clothes” of the shaman, which differs from the use of masks and in itself seems to come close to an expression of dissolution of frontiers and perspectives.
