The Jaguar Corridor Initiative is a large-scale landscape connectivity project that envisages a continuous territory from Argentina to Mexico to prevent the jaguar’s extinction. The initiative has been largely unknown to urban and landscape architecture researchers. I address this gap through a cartography that renders visible the intertwinements between the Jaguar Corridor and urbanisation processes. The cartography reveals the corridor is a stronghold against urbanisation while nevertheless connected to urban life, and a contested territory in friction with the socio-ecological flows of urbanisation where Indigenous communities, peasants, and other marginalised populations struggle for environmental justice. I reinterpret the corridor as an infrastructure of care, underscoring that cultivating a landscape for the sustenance of human and more-than-human lives is a deeply collective and political endeavour embedded in power relations that define how the corridor is shaped and cared for, and whose lives are enhanced or diminished through this process
