This study focuses on the typological characteristics and morphological differentiation of traditional polder landscapes in the Yangtze River Delta Riverside Area. The research methods included the use of historical documents, maps, and remote sensing images from before large-scale urbanisation, combined with analysis on the ArcGIS platform and field surveys, to conduct a systematic analysis of the polder landscapes in the Yangtze River Delta Riverside Area. The research results reveal three types of polders in the Yangtze River Delta Riverside Area, each type of polder has its unique reclamation methods and morphological characteristics. The research results emphasise that the morphological differentiation of polder landscapes is jointly influenced by natural environments and human activities. Factors such as the curvature of the Yangtze River section, sediment content in the Yangtze River, and the speed of human reclamation are all factors contributing to the diversity of polder landscapes
