Additional research into productions of Le Sacre du Printemps on the German stage confirms my earlier thesis that choreographers staged Sacre during periods of heightened tension between 'classical' and 'modern' styles on the German dance stage.' Although no reviews of Marion Hermann's 1931 production in Frankfurt have come to light, it is possible to locate her staging of Sacre within the broader contours of her career. As a child she studied at the Loheland School, which offered combined training in dance and gymnastics. Without any further formal training, she later presented concerts of her own solos and joined the dance ensemble at the Duisburg Opera.
