Formerly acting director of the Center for European Studies at Harvard, he is currently on the Executive Committee of the Council for European Studies (based in New York) and the Interuniversity Center for European Studies in Montreal. His present research interests include the analyses made by European trade unions of present economic difficulties and a comparison of domestic responses to several international economic crises
