This paper provides an overview of wind energy projects in Mexico. It is based on the understanding that the rise of these responds to international policies and is not exclusive to the country; However, his case presents important particularities because many of these farms are located in indigenous territories where they have provoked socio-environmental conflicts driven by a feeling of opposition and resistance. Therefore, this work seeks to answer the following questions: how was the energy policy configured that allowed the multiplication of projects of this type in those territories? Why do these projects sometimes lack social approval? This analysis is based on the categories social acceptance and environmental justice, as well as reflections arising from empirical elements.
