Although the site is best known for its sanctuaries and baths, the first Latin inscription ever found at Pithiviers-le-Vieil is not a religious votive, but a funerary dedication refering to the torn (monimentum) built by Conconnibitus for his children, Toutocamulus and Illanua. The stone, which dates from the first century A.D., bears witness to the Romanization of a population still very attached to its Celtic roots
