This article represents the first analysis of the Osborn b216 manuscript held at the Beinecke Library, Yale University, and the discovery of eight previously unknown sermons by former Oxford Vice Chancellor and chaplain to Oliver Cromwell, John Owen (1616–1683). The discovery of this manuscript provides more information about sermon culture in the Owen circle than readers have had before. This article will argue that the network that appreciated and collected Owen’s work after the Restoration was larger and less defined than previously known. It will demonstrate that the collection habits of this network were less formal and uniform than they were creative and diverse. Finally, this article will consider not only the content but also the manner of Owen’s preaching
