The following 12 papers and 5 book reviews are concerned with the newest specialisation in Australian psychology: sport psychology. These contributions illustrate that the focus of sport psychology is not restricted to helping elite athletes to win; and that rather than being an insular domain, sport psychology is closely linked with and can contribute to other areas of the profession, particularly health psychology. The contributions also show that, unlike other areas, sport psychology relies on substantial input from outside disciplines, particularly human movement. Finally, it was argued that, at the present time, potential for employment in sport psychology is very limited and that the profession should be wary of creating an oversupply of graduates with skills confined to sport and exercise
