This work perform an objective analysis of military values and their relevance for today. To do so, describe the characteristics of the Post-Modern World. The following identifies the classic military virtues present in the Hellenistic and Roman world, in order to confront them with the virtues traditionally worshiped by the Armies. At the end, it investigates the military virtues are in tune with their time. Institutions need to beliefs, values and beliefs to work. In this context, the hosts need to believe that their soldiers and cultivate values for that fight, because they will only be willing to give their lives, if they believe in bigger and more important values. This paper seeks to bring these issues to debate and speculate about what values could still make sense in the postmodern world. The author's personal experience, that joined in a Brazilian military school at the age of 15 years old, will bring more than an academic point of view
